The award “The Historic Hotel / Restaurant of the Year” is bestowed by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) in cooperation with GastroSuisse, hotelleriesuisse and Switzerland Tourism. Since 2002, the project has been supported by Mobiliar Versicherungen & Vorsorge.
ICOMOS publishes in Switzerland a yearly update of the guide “Historic Hotels and Restaurants in Switzerland” in cooperation with GastroSuisse, hotelleriesuisse and Switzerland Tourism. Orders can be placed online at www.hierundjetzt.ch, or with bookstores.

1997, is intended to encourage hotel and restaurant owners and their managers to preserve the historic substance of their properties and to spread the awareness of conservation and care of these properties among the general public.
