Alphotel Eiger
The Alphotel Eiger - a small hotel with 4 newly renovated double rooms furnished in modern rustic style, one three-bed room and one single room - is situated in Beatenberg, on the sun terrace of the Bernese Oberland. All rooms have their own shower/WC and a balcony. In this over 100-year-old wooden house peace and relaxation - not television - take centre stage. The hotel's sauna is just as much part of a relaxing stay as reading and enjoying a glass of wine beside a crackling wood stove.
Using solar energy, heating with wood and sleeping in wool beds as well as serving a substantial breakfast buffet featuring local produce are all in keeping with the host couple's ecological approach.
Bon vivants appreciate the small garden with a unique panorama, ranging from Eiger to Niesen, as much as the cosy lounge which is perfect for getting together and exchanging tips or simply sitting and listening.
