Various accommodation options/hotels
The tracks of muleteers as cultural heritage convey nostalgia and foster a sense for the achievements of our forebears. Highlights include culinary specialities and primeval features which through centuries have developed differently in the four cultural and linguistic regions. Nowadays public transport runs parallel to the trail across the Alps almost throughout, and the hikes along individual sections can therefore be shortened if required. Topographical, historic and cultural values provide the basis for this nature-oriented experience. Hikers support the natural and gentle economic development. The raw material milk is produced by valley, mountain and alpine farms and then processed and made into excellent natural produce including hard cheeses such as Sbrinz and Spalen. Holistic partnership-based approaches which take account of the interests of nature, agriculture, tourism and society to an equal extent are promoted. Within the scope of a superior development perspective participative models allow various players to work towards achieving joint goals and therefore protecting the environment.
