Hôtel-Restaurant du Marchairuz
Two years ago, the 150-year-old mountain inn, rich in tradition, was reconstructed (with support from the Swiss Agriculture Fond). It now accommodates its hotel rooms and restaurant. The hotel is located on the ridge of the Jurassic range, in the midst of the semi-open forest and pasture landscape. The crest separates the Vallée de Joux from the Rolle Region and the Lake Geneva Region.

And endless hikes through the wilderness of the Jura region, where you can get to know diverse flora and geological features as well as Alpine and pasture farming.
Lonely forests, the occasional high moor and karsts that are sometimes craggy as a glacier, are all to be found in the Jura region. Visitors to the Jurassic Park are especially attracted to the changing scenery, alternating between forests and clearings or pastures. The area of 75 sq km between Col de la Givrine and Col de Marchairuz is the largest still existing wilderness area of the Jura.
Traditional agriculture and forestry have intentionally been allowed to endure - after all, the region is not just a natural landscape, but a nature-oriented cultural landscape, bearing the imprint of centuries of interaction between man and his natural surroundings.
