An excursion to this mountain idyll will lead you to granite massifs, High Alpine moors, and tranquil, pristine nature. Apart from the power plant, the valleys have remained untouched. Everywhere rocks bear witness to eruptions. Geologically speaking, the region is part of the granite rocks of the Aar massif. The flora supported by this crystalline soil includes firs, stone pines, protected larch forests, alder trees, Alpine roses and lush green meadows. Here you will also find Alps with sparse flora, high moors and moraines with sparse vegetation.

Berggasthaus Göscheneralp - Gwüest
The familiy Mattli has been proprietors and managers of this mountain inn for four generations now. Patrons, among them the local mountain guides, come to this clean, rustic guesthouse on a regular basis - because of the innumerable hiking and climbing opportunities in the pristine landscape and because of the sincere hospitality. The main house has two first-floor rooms and two second-floor rooms, with flowing water and a shower on each floor. The adjacent building has shared rooms (25 beds in five rooms). The guesthouse also has a vacation home with 4-6 beds. In the fall you can go hunting (but not before September 10, when the hunting season starts in this region).
