Paspels (Graubünden)
The Domleschg, a region rich in hedgerows and some truly idyllic countryside, is also home to numerous castles and palaces as well as another costly treasure no less worthy of preservation. The countless dry-stone walls that are such a distinctive feature of this area provide a habitat for all kinds of flora and fauna and are one of the main reasons for its diversity.
Rätikon (Graubünden)
Rätikon is famous for its impressive mountain scenery and above all for the rocky cliffs and crags to be seen jutting out of hills and mountains worn smooth during the Ice Age. Far removed from the hustle and bustle of city life, this is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the peace, beauty and expansiveness - at least by Central European standards - of unspoiled countryside against a spectacular Alpine backdrop.

What is offered here relates to the whole of the Vallemaggia, a south-facing Alpine valley that covers about a fifth of the canton of Ticino. It is a huge and varied area that extends from the bottom of the valley, unique in Switzerland for its natural unspoilt river landscape that offers many delightful spots to swim in summer, up to the high mountain summits that rise to 3000 metres above sea level.
Viamala gorge (Graubünden)
Viamala literally means "bad path" and indeed, for several centuries travellers in this area preferred not to pass through this wild gorge if at all possible. Nor were their fears unfounded, for the path was frequently washed away or buried under landslides. These days, however, the Viamala is an outdoor museum with walls made of solid rock and only the sky as a roof. It covers an area of 16 km2, yet contains no fewer than 50 different sights which between them testify to over 4000 years of history.

St. Antönien (Graubünden)
"Behind the moon, to the left" - that's the advertising motto for St. Antönien. The person who came up with that phrase, the host of the mountain inn Sulzfluh, is definitely not on the moon, but very down-to-earth and has his finger on the pulse of the times. The open-air whirlpool, which is heated using wooden logs, is his most recent idea.
Via Spluga
Historic routes are particularly fascinating. Especially if they lead across the main Alpine comb: from the cold North to the warm South.
