Brig

The Stockalper's Castle in Brig is one of the finest castles in Switzerland.
Stockalper's Castle (Stockalperschloss) was built between 1658 and 1678 by Kaspar Jodok von Stockalper from Thurm. Kaspar Jodok was one of the most important descendants of an old family and a man of exceptional talents: intelligent, courageous, open-minded and extremely active. He put the whole castle under the protection of the Three Wise Men and called the towers Caspar, Melchior and Balthazar.
An outstanding baroque garden with roseries, fountains, and vineyards was newly created.
