The spirit of the Benedictine Monks is still perceptible in the Abbey Library, which is said to be the most beautiful secular Rococo hall in Switzerland.
The magnificent library, with its over 140'000 manuscripts, early prints and books contains the codex of the Nibelung as well as richly decorated Irish manuscripts and some 1000-year-old original parchments.

How to get there:
By train: 10 minutes on foot from St.Gallen train station.
By car: Please use one of our public car parks around the old city.

December to March:
Monday to Saturday 10 to 12 am and 1:30 to 5 pm
Sunday 10 to 12 am and 1:30 to 4 pm
April to October:
Monday to Saturday 10 to 5 pm
Sunday: 10 to 4 pm
November: closed

Cathedral: Monday to Saturday 9 am to 6 pm
Sunday 12.15 am to 5:30 pm
Service: Saturday 5:30, Sunday 8 am, 915 am, 11 am, 7:30 pm
