Fribourg

Fribourg has preserved its character as a medieval town thanks to a superb collection (the only one in Switzerland) of more than two hundred Gothic facades dating back to the 15th century.
Since its foundation by the Dukes of Zaehringen in 1157, it has achieved the perfect marriage of tradition and modernity.

St. Nicolas Cathedral
Built between 1283 and 1631, Gothic in style, the cathedral has stained glass windows by Jozef Mehoffer and Alfred Manessier and an organ by Aloys Mooser. You can climb to the top of the tower (there is one step for every day of the year) to enjoy a magnificent view of the whole city.

Explore the little town of Fribourg on a little train! This original idea enables you to see the sights around Fribourg in only an hour (leaves from Place Georges-Python).

How to get there:
By bus: lines 1, 2, 6 (Tilleul stop).
By car: leave the A12 (north) motorway and take the Rue de Morat.
