The Hermitage Foundation is dedicated to temporary Fine Art exhibitions.
This Foundation is located inside a beautiful 19th century residence surrounded by magnificent parkland that is open to the public. The site offers a beautiful view of the Cathedral and Lake Geneva, and was immortalised by the painter Camille Corot during his visit in 1825. The Hermitage Foundation boasts a collection of paintings, sculptures, drawings and engravings by both local artists (Bocion, Bosshard, Domenjoz and Vallotton, for example) and foreign artists (Sisley, Magritte, Oudot and Plazzotta, for example). However, this collection is not on permanent display. The Foundation organizes two or three much-anticipated and internationally-recognised temporary exhibitions every year.

Opening hours:
All year round, Tuesday to Sunday. Open on public holiday Mondays.

How to get there:
By bus: take bus line 3 from the station in the direction of Bellevaux and alight at Motte. Follow the signposts (this should take about 10 minutes on foot). Alternatively, from Place Saint-Francois in the town centre: take bus line 16 in the direction of La Clochatte and alight at Hermitage.
By car: take the Lausanne bypass motorway (A9, Lausanne-nord), and exit at Vennes-Hôpitaux. Drive towards the town centre, staying in the right-hand lane until you see the brown "Fondation de l'Hermitage" sign (chemin de Boissonnet). Drive across the Bois de Sauvabelin (wood) and park in the large car park (there are spaces on both sides of the road). Follow the beautiful signposted path to the Hermitage on foot (this should take about 6-7 minutes).
