The historic hotel of the year 2001

Originally built in 1883, the hotel was already enlarged ten years later by the renowned hotel architect Louis Maillard from Vevey. On a terrace overlooking the mountain road, the Bella Tola was a typical Alpine hotel of the 19th century, which, thanks to further additions, expanded into a Grand Hotel. It remained the property of one family for three generations, was then handed over to a shareholder company, and finally became the possession of Anne-Françoise and Claude Buchs. The new owners brought back some of the old luster, which had been lost step by step in the different phases of transformation. Today, the overall historic appearance is kept intact, while the old floors and windows were renovated in the old style. Thanks to the extraordinary commitment of today’s owners, a stay at this gem of a hotel in the Val d’Anniviers turns out to be an outstanding experience.
