History brought back to life: Schloss Wartegg was restored using traditional materials purchased locally.
The castle's English-style park extends over 13 hectares and has become a national landmark, whose bounty is much appreciated inside the hotel as well.
The dishes served in the restaurant are made with traditional, organically grown produce with a rich panoply of flavours and aromas.
The historic "Turkish Bath", moreover, must be the loveliest bathtub in Switzerland.

Schloss Wartegg was built in 1557 on a hillside overlooking the southern shore of Lake Constance. In 1994, after several decades of neglect, the erstwhile retreat of the Empress Zita was lovingly restored and converted into an elegant hotel. The garden has since then become famous for its cultivation of historical varieties, many of which were taken from old cottage gardens in the region and the fruits of which find their way into the exquisite seasonal fare served in the hotel. Schloss Wartegg belongs to the group "swiss historic hotels."
