Zürich may be Switzerland’s urbane heart, famous for its art, design and lifestyle, but the city is also wonderfully manageable.
To maintain the harmony of the picturesque Old Town by the lake, there are hardly any tall buildings. Once by the shore, you realise how close nature is. On the way to wilderness.
On Zürich's doorstep is the Sihlwald forest. Once a source of timber for the city, today it is a wonderfully tranquil place. Nature is taking over once again, and human visitors merely come to marvel: at the trees, the mosses, the woodpeckers and bats, the squirrels and dormice, the frogs, mushrooms and algae.
