Nature and art hand in hand
Framed by terraced vineyards and alpine peaks, this region boasts a
real wealth of natural treasures. Step aboard the steepest two-cabin
funicular in the world and follow in the steps of the dinosaurs -
literally! Breathe in deeply - Emosson's fresh mountain air is truly
refreshing.
St. Bernard dogs
Welcome to the home of legendary canine lifesaver Barry (1800-1814). You can visit his descendants in summer on the Great St. Bernard pass (2,469 m), or yearround at the St. Bernard Dog Museum in Martigny.
Vineyards and thermal baths
Pamper yourself through and through with a visit to the thermal baths in Saillon or Ovronnaz, followed by a stroll through the vineyards. And why not sample a drop of fine wine from the Valais while you are there?
The Pierre Gianadda Foundation
The museum houses a extensive permanent gallo-roman exhibition, plus temporary art exhibitions of international repute.
