No cars, abundant sunshine, magnificent mountain peaks and an astonishingly vast quantity of ice…
Bettmeralp lies on the sunny side of Switzerland, beside the 23-km Great Aletsch Glacier, the longest and most enchanting ice river in the Alps. Its breathtaking beauty can be admired on a guided walk. Here, in the heart of the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage site, children can enjoy some of their first genuine mountain adventures – for example, at the weekly kids’ climbing sessions.

Valley of minerals.

Among mineral aficionados, the wild and romantic Binntal is a classic: more than 160 varieties of crystal, some extremely rare, are found in this nature reserve, which borders directly on the oldest natural park in Piedmont in Italy. Old smugglers’ routes, now marked as footpaths and mountain bike trails, lead up to the passes in just a few hours. The geological centre and educational trail reveal many of the valley’s hidden secrets.

The Jungfrau-Aletsch Region is nowlabelled World Natural Heritage by UNESCO.Known for the extraordinary beauty of its land-scape, it is the first and only site in the Alps tobear this honorable distinction.
