Les Diablerets
The scene seems to belong in a picture book: rising dramatically above the resort is Glacier 3000, named after its great altitude.
It promises heavenly experiences, too, up on the permanent snow: trips on the "snow bus", rides on dog sleds, and thrilling descents on the Alpine Coaster. Back down in the valley, the Free Access Card lets guests enjoy a host of activities without paying. Also free of charge – naturally – are hikes on the 250 varied kilometres of marked footpaths at all altitudes, and rides on the adventure-filled mountain bike trails that lead through this wild landscape at the heart of the Vaud Alps. Families enjoy the moderate prices, and the lively children's activity programme – and, in the form of Les Diablerets, the picture-book idyll of an authentic mountain village.
