The magic of fire and iron
Set in the heart of the city, the great Vallorbe Forge houses the Iron and Railway Museum. This is an exceptional site on the river side, a true tribute to metalworking over the centuries. From the pulsating forge, the railway tracks invite the traveller to dream on some of the most prestigious trains.
Well kept secrets
At he gates of Switzerland, the Pré-Giroud Fort 1939-1945 is built directly into the mountainside. Its mysteries are buried deep under the Jura Mountains. A labyrinth of underground galleries and rooms fitted out with historical reconstructions disclosing the conditions existing during the Second World War.

How to get there
Public Transport: Train station: TGV Paris-Dijon-Vallorbe
By car: Vallorbe, in the heart of the Swiss Jura is borderline with France. You can reach the city in 30 minutes from Lausanne, 1 hour from Bern and Geneva and 20 minutes from Pontarlier.
