With the museum built by Renzo Piano and opened in 1997, the Foundation Beyeler has received a permanent home open to the public. Around 200 works of modern art classics document Hildy and Ernst Beyeler's personal visions and views of 20th century art. The works of classical contemporary art are contrasted with about 25 objects of tribal art from Africa, Oceania and Alaska.
Renzo Piano designed a 127 meter long building covered entirely by a glass roof for nearly 200 paintings and sculptures.
Location:
The Foundation Beyeler is located in Riehen, a suburb of Basel.
Opening hours:
Monday - Sunday 10 am to 6 pm
Wednesday 10 am to 8 pm
