Risipass

When talking about the biking in Schwägalp, the legendary motorbike meetings are usually mentioned. Yet the fissured world of the mountains in the area of the Säntis attracts human powered steel horses as well. The tour of Risipass gives you views into the far and hidden residential areas of the Toggenburgs. In stark contrast is the wide and open pasture on the top of the smooth heights. The huge rock of Säntis massif, the symbol of this area, attracts excursions from far and wide.

From the station of Nesslau xou follow the Thurweg to Stein. Here starts the pleasant but long ascent to Risipass. During the uphill, you will discover enchanting views over Toggenburg. Over it, you can see the majestic Säntis. The downhill to Lautertannen asks some skills in its upper part. On a good road, passing Säntiseralp you will reach the pass Schwägalp. After a short downhill you will come to Hornalp, where a very steep downhill is waiting for you. Tecnically not too skilled bikers will have to hop off the saddle now and then. Arrived on the bottom, an asphalted road will take you back to the point of departure.
