The tour in the Clos du Doubs takes you through a completely different,
largely unknown world. Peace and quiet prevail in this remote setting.
In fact, on your ride over the back of the Clos du Doubs you're
unlikely to encounter anything more than lush greenery and the odd
farmhouse or two. The views here encompass the Chasseral, Les Rangier
and fade out in the distant French Jura. What's more, the river itself
is both a recreation area and source of life at one and the same time:
anglers throng here to practise their sport. They say in these parts
that the local trout in the Doubs is simply out of this world.
St. Ursanne - Epiquerez - Soubey - St. Ursanne
From St. Ursanne train station zoom on your wheels into the village. Cross the river Doubs at the arch bridge, then turn left, pedaling uphill to Epauvillers. Near Montenol follow the hiking trail to Epiquerez. Once in Epiquerez, ride down the road leading to Soubey. While descending, make a right turn at the fork. In Soubey, cross the river Doubs and subsequently stay on the hiking trail on the right bank, leading to Ursanne.
