Can there be anything better than going biking against a glorious mountain backdrop? That's not a problem at all in the Saas Valley. No fewer than 13 of Switzerland's highest peaks are assembled here, with the Dufourspitze standing head and shoulders above giants. The narrow and steep valley would appear to indicate difficult, technically challenging trails - not everyone's idea of pleasure. But the marvellous circuit of Saas Grund, via Furggau and back again via Saas Almagell undermines this assumption in spectacular fashion. Immerse yourself in an enormous mountain world and enjoy yourself, best sums up the approach to this tour.
Saas Grund - Fluh - Sengg - Üsseri-Wildi - Saas Fee - Saas Almagell - Furggstalden - Furggu - Stutzbode - Zer Meiggeru - Saas Almagell - Unter den Bodmen - Saas Grund
After Saas Grund follow the Saas-Fee trail up to 1.7 km. Here a small road leads to Sengg. The subsequent stretch up to Saas-Fee goes through flat terrain. Ride through the village and continue to the other side of the Feevispa. A slightly sloping descent follows down to Saas Almagell. After barely a kilometer you will reach Furrgtälli, then turn left. Now the route becomes a bit challenging after all, as far as technique is concerned, before you return along the SaasVispa river to Saas Grund.
