The little-known Capriasca Mountain north of Lugano may be regarded as a genuine insider's tip. The 700-meter-high plateau offers fantastic views of the Gulf of Lugano and Val Colla. Picturesque villages with imposing churches characterize the panorama. The chestnut forests all around are a veritable paradise for bikers. Single trails and forest paths for every level of skill are plentiful.
Tesserete - Vaglio - San Bernardo - Comano - Carnago - Lago d'Origlio - Origlio - Taverne - Ponte Capriasca - Sala Capriasca - Tesserete
From Tesserete the route follows the hiking trail in the direction of San Bernardo. Splendid forest trails mark the ascent and give enough reason for feelings of elation. A fast descent leads to Comano. On the hiking trail towards Origlio you will reach the lake of the same name. From Origlio the route takes you down to Taverne. Here a paved road gently ascends to Ponte Capriasca. An ultra steep section of the route leads up to Sala Capriasca. Follow the hiking trail in the direction of Tesserete and you will be constantly accompanied by a beautiful panorama as you return to the starting point of the tour.
