The densely forested border area south of the vantage point of Monte Lerna is equally attractive to bikers and hikers. Lovely, tranquil villages define the Malcantone region. Here you will find none of the hustle and bustle of the tourism centers in Ticino. Parts of the tour follow smugglers' trails wending their way from Switzerland to Italy and back. Stunning vistas open up to the wonderful world of the Ticinese lakes. Here sparkles the sublime Lago Maggiore, and there the branches of Lago di Lugano are stretched out. Simply fantastic.
Miglieglia - Novaggio - Banco - Astano - Trezzino - Due Cossani - Pradecolo - Miglieglia
The bike tour begins in Miglieglia at the foot of Monte Lemas. A narrow road leads to Astano. Beyond the border you will start the multi-level descent to Trezzino. At first the tour runs on a broad country lane, then on a trail to Due Cossani. Here begins the long uphill ride on an asphalt road to Pradecolo. Finally, a mountain trail, defined by marvelous views and technical challenges takes you back to Switzerland. The tour concludes with a fast downhill ride, which brings you back to the starting point in Miglieglia.
