The densely populated Ergolz valley stands in contrast to the forested and tranquil hills all around. The network of forest and hiking trails in the Basel Region is enormous and has been a playground for women athletes for quite some time. The bike tour takes you at first from the picturesque town of Liestal to Mt. Zunzger. Tricky trails have to be conquered, some of them not even recommendable for experienced bikers. There is a superlative descent to Sissach. The ruin of Farnsburg Castle beckons at the end of the second ascent. The ride across to Sissacher Fluh and oward to Schleifenberg is simply wonderful. It's one of those otherwordly mountain trails.
