Gspon, a mountain village, is located at an almost inhospitable location high above the Vispa River Valley. To this day, no road leads up to Gspon, which makes it a particularly idyllic village. When you glance down into the deep canyon, you can see the roaring confluence of the rivers Saas and Mattervispa. The steep Saas Valley extends towards the south. The bike tour over the Gebidum Pass down to the Nanz Valley and further on to Brig leaves nothing to be desired. Magnificent panoramas, challenging and rewarding trails, a long downhill ride and breathtaking scenery define this tour.
Gspon - Sädolti - Sitestafel - Gebidumpass - Mättwe - Nidristi Alp - Mittluhüs - Schratt - Holzji - Brig
An aerial cableway brings you to Gspon, the starting point of the tour, the valley station of which is located in Stalden in the Visper Valley. The bike tour at first leads on a wide path to the Gebidum Pass. An excursion to the Gebidum Lake is a must because from here the panorama is simply overwhelming. Back on the pass the long downhill to Brig beckons. The first section of the downhill trail is fairly easy, but then the route on the right hand side of the valley turns into a rather difficult single trail. Past the village of Glis, the tour finally ends at the Brig Train Station.
