Biking uphill, stopping for a repast at a mountain inn with wonderful panoramic views, then hurtling down - what more could one expect of a mountain bike tour? Maybe the biker wants to get a taste of local culture by viewing the splendid architecture of a cloister? The tour from Engelberg up to the Brunni Hut brings all these criteria to a point: the imposing Titlis massif takes center stage. Omnipresent and with lofty beauty this prominent peak ascends into the sky. The other rocky peaks, although gigantic in their own right, seem almost insignificant compared to Mt. Rigi. Fantastic!
Engelberg - Grüss - Spiessboden - Ristis - Rigidalstafel - Brunnihütte - Ristis - Schwand - Engelberg
The bike tour starts at Engelberg's Railroad Station and at first takes you through the village up to the valley station of the Brunni mountain train. A magnificent panoramic trail wends its way in numerous loops up to the Ristis, where the mountain station of the cableway is located. Ride past the Rigidalstafel and up a narrow path to the Brunni Hut. The location of this SAC Hut is unique. An enormous mountain panorama opens up to the south. You'll ride on a pretty steep trail down to Ristis before continuing on a wide path via Schwand, ultimately returning to Engelberg.
