Unmistakable, and distinguished by sublime beauty, the two Mythen Mountains are the uncontested landmark of Schwyz. Replete with wonderful panoramic views, the bike tour around the two giant mountains is truly spectacular. The towns and villages situated along the biking route are highly interesting, historic sites. And even bikers who want to be technically challenged will get their money's worth on this tour. Especially the section from Iberger Egg to the Haggenegg is a pretty hard nut to crack. Now, who wants to stay home when such superb prospects beckon?
Brunnen - Schlattli - Illgau - Oberberg - Ibergeregg - Holzegg - Haggenegg - Schwyz - Brunnen
The Mythen loop starts at the Brunnen Railroad Station and runs at first on asphalt trails to the Muota Valley. At Illgau the trail ascends up to Oberberg and further up to Ibergeregg. Cycle on the panoramic trail towards Holzegg, where magnificent vistas extend up to eastern Switzerland. From Holzegg, a trail extends directly below the Mythen's rock pulpit to the Haggenegg Mountain. A long but technically uneventful descent leads ultimately down to Seewen. Return to Brunnen by using the hiking trail.
