Appenzell - Kau - Eischen - Scheidegg - Gonten - Gontenbad - Appenzell.

From Appenzell to the side street with little traffic, up to Kau and then following a pleasant alp track further uphill. In the track on the top, the trail becomes rougher and steeper. Now, even the best bikers have to hop off their iron horsw for 3 to 5 minutes. On the top of Scheidegg, you may choose between a little, force taking brake to the restaurant or stright ahead to the refreshing downhill over Gonten back to Appenzell.
