The images of the awe-inspiring, even intimidating Eiger North Face - which rises above Grindelwald and the Kleine Scheidegg - are world famous. From this close, every time you see the imposing mountain face it is just stupendous and impresses you afresh. The narrow road at the base and then a gravel path lead to the High Alps, where meadows are more rugged and sparse than in the valley. Continue to Kleine Scheidegg, where visitors from all over the world enjoy this wonderful mountain world. The downhill from Scheidegg is not extremely challenging. However, the descent where skiers race down the famous Lauberhorn run in winter, requires intensive application of your brakes. Especially on the narrow serpentines leading to cool Lauterbrunnen. Here, at a gradient of15%, there is one hairpin bend after the other .
