Difficult ascents, some of which require skilful technique, define the first part of the circuit leading through the countryside of Neuchâtel. A special treat awaits you - the spectacular downhill ride from Chaumont to the town by the lake. This downhill stretch reveals landscapes unrivalled in their beauty. The broad plain of the little-known Val de Ruz contrasts starkly with the steep drop of the slopes of the Chaumont. The Jura heights surrounding the valley look wonderfully tranquil and secluded. From time to time youll stumble upon a cosy Jurabeizli, where you can fortify yourself with a square meal before the next ascent.
