Lugano: Alpe Bolla

Lugano

Select your Region:
Climbing Monte Brè

Biking through the subtropical vegetation on Lugano's local mountain is quite challenging. Once you have reached the altitude of Monte Brè, with the same named village, your destination is Alpe Bolla. Although the steep slopes the fantastic high-altitude route passes through offer brilliant views, they have made more than one biker feel that little bit nervous. The rough descent to Cadro delights even the most seasoned biker.

From Lugano take the little side-roads up to the gorgeous, small mountain village of Bré. The ride continues onward to the highest point of the tour, via a steep path with a beautiful panoramic view of Lago di Lugano. The narrow, circa 3 km-long ridge path to Alpe Bolla begins at the highest point of the tour. The steeply downhill sloping terrain requires a high level of technical skill . The subsequent rough descent demands highest skill as well. The return route through the valley leads through side-streets.
