Arisberg

Frutigen

Select your Region:
Arisberg

The Aris Mountain forms the topographical border between the Kander Valley and the Kien Valley. Typical Alpine meadows and widely spread mountain forests define this ridge. In the valley below, the Lötschberg train meanders in numerous loops up to the Kander Valley. The route across the Aris Mountain is actually one of the easier tours, since no technical peculiarities have to be contended with. Enjoying the scenic beauty is paramount on this tour. But, of course, 800 meters in difference of altitude are not a matter to be taken lightly, even though the route runs mainly on asphalted roads.

The tour to the Aris Mountain starts in Frutigen and at first uses the bicycle route down to Kien. It is here that the ascent to Aris starts. Above the hamlet the route turns right and goes further uphill in the direction of the Aris Mountain. Accompanied by magnificent vistas of the Kander Valley, the tour then leads mostly in the direction of the valley to Kandergrund. Once you are back in the valley, a leisurely ride on the bicycle trail takes you back to Frutigen.
