Le Suchet

Vallorbe

Select your Region:
Les Clées

Technically simple but all the more spectacular as far as scenery is concerned - this is how the bike tour presents itself from Vallorbe to the Suchet Mountain and back. Close to the French border you will find a landscape of peace and solitude. Typical Jurassic forests accentuate the scenery. Magnificent panoramic views extend far into the Mittelland. The Savoy Alps and the Mont Blanc are so close you can almost touch them. And after the tour you will descend into the Jurassic Mountains' underworl: The grottos of Vallorbe are well worth a visit.

The tour starts at the Vallorbe Railroad Station and after passing Chemin des Crêtes takes you to Ballaigues. Shortly before the village the route turns left and continues all the way up the mountain in the direction of Le Bugnon. At Les Cernis the route continues on a hiking trail. Always following the signposts on the way to Le Suchet, you continue your journey through fantastic Jurassic landscapes. From La
Payette the route runs to Le Rex, before the final ascent to Châlet du Suchet. On a Jura mountain trail you will now first cycle back to La Payette and then set out for La Bessonne. Past the small village of Lignerolle the trail continues down to Les Clées. Here you will cross the Orbe River. Subsequently, a beautiful forest trail rises along the opposite side of the valley to Le Day. On the road you will then ride back to La Payette.
