This tour leads from the small town of Olten via the Belchen and over to the main town in the Basle region, Liestal. In Olten, you get straight down to business. No easy coasting along or warming up. You've barely gone two kilometres and your heart rate is already up to "180". A steep single trail will mercilessly find your technical limits for going uphill. Further up near the Homberglücke, you just can't ride any more and have to push. Then the final climb up to the Belchenfluh is more moderate again and easier to ride. Once you get to the top, the trail goes down in several stages to Liestal. Going sometimes through woods, then across lush meadows, a mountain trail with outstanding views takes you down to the Ergolztal. Just occasionally it goes uphill again, so that the fun isn't over too quickly.
