Charming Val Lumnez
Mundaun
Select your Region:

The round trip from Surcuolm up to the Alp Mundaun is demanding in terms of fitness, but it takes you right into the idyllic Val Lumnez. Far from the main tourist areas of the Grisons, this picturesque valley retains a more peaceful atmosphere. The scenery in the valley is one of tranquillity and remoteness. A particularly charming village is Vella, with its 300-year-old little castle. The biking route is characterised by excellent views and mostly undemanding trails. In fact, it only gets really tricky as you go down from the Alp Nova to Obersaxen. In some places here, you even have to get off and push.
Surcuolm - Morissen - Vella - Resgia Surval - Alp Sezner - Alp Nova - Miraniga - Misanenga - Platenga - Surcuolm
A path which is tarmac nearly all the way leads from Surcuolm uphill to Morissen. From there, you go downhill to Vella and on to Resgia Surval. Here you begin the long climb up to the Alp Sezner. From the Alp Nova there's a technically tricky downhill section back to Obersaxen. In some places you'll even be forced to get off. The last part of the route leads through the old Walser villages of Miraniga, Misanenga and Plateng back to Surcuolm.
