Olten (Aarburg)-Sarnen
A trip through flat fields and over a challenging pass, through rare moorlands with an unbelievable wealth of flora, through the densely populated Mittelland, past lonely farms and through the legend-laden Lucerne hinterland.
Wimmis-Kerzers (Golaten)
An easy ride through the wide, flat Gürbe Valley. Before reaching the capital city of Bern the route climbs up to the gentle curves of the Längenberge, past stolid farmhouses, then to Laupen with its veranda houses and via the Biberen plateau to Golaten.
Arbon-Nesslau
After the wide Bodensee you soon cross the monastery town of St. Gallen. After Herisau you tackle the hilly outcrop of the Säntis, reach Toggenburg and pedal through a tradition-rich orchard landscape, a delight for both palate and soul.
Brunnen-Schaffhausen
From the Goldau rockfall area at Zugersee lake, under the spell of the Rigi, alongside the meandering Reuss, through historic bridge towns such as Bremgarten and Brugg. Klettgau wine villages follow the Zurzach spa, the goal is the thundering Rhine Falls.
Schaffhausen-Arbon
Riding alongside the Rhine, you pass the St. Katherinatal Monastery, then head to countryside, to the timber-framed buildings at Stammheim. Surprisingly we have repeated panoramic views of the Alps. Apple trees increase in numbers, the Bodensee is not far off.
Thun-Zürich
Through down-to-earth Emmental with its flower-adorned farmhouses, a stop at St.Urban monastery, on through the Seetal valley with shallow lakes rimmed with reeds, over the Reuss into Säuliamt, the metropolis of Zurich already calling.
Giswil-Engelberg
From the silvery Sarnersee lake through Kernwald forest to Stans, with Swiss hero Winkelried immortalized in marble. The historic Hochhüs stands in the Aa Valley, the trail to the monastery village of Engelberg with its holiday atmosphere is uneven and steep.
Schaffhausen-Wattwil (Ricken)
From the thundering Rhine Falls to timber-framed houses in Andelfingen, from lively Winterthur through narrow valleys and hilly countryside to the shallow Pfäffikersee, through a unique glacial landscape and then scenic ascents to the historic Rikenpass.
Payerne-Bulle
Scenic crests, babbling streams and shady woodland sweeten the ups and downs on this country route. In the distance medieval Romon stands proud on a hill and Bulle beckons with culinary delights.
A bike tour from Sion to Visp full of fascinating contrast. From vineyards on mountain slopes to ski regions, from huge tourist centres to tiny, tranquil mountain villages. And in between, picture-book alps, cool mountain streams and superb trails.
