Aubonne

A walk through nature, far from busy roads, discovering trees from all over the world.
Arboretum
This park in the Aubonne Valley gives you the opportunity to discover over 3,000 species of trees and shrubs from all continents. Old-fashioned orchards, the forests of north-west America and a Forester's Trail set amongst many ponds and lakes await.
Every visitor can explore the Arboretum as they wish, according to their own interests and how much time they have available, even if they simply want to go for a walk in natural and peaceful surroundings. Although the Arboretum is a private association, entry is free.
Open all year round.

Wood Museum
This museum explores the uses of wood and the jobs involved in forestry and woodworking, so that the tradition of artistry in wood is kept alive. It also pays homage to the enormous inventiveness of our ancestors. 1,500 pieces are exhibited in permanent displays and annual temporary collections.
Open Sunday afternoons between April and October.

How to get there:
By car: take the motorway and exit at Aubonne - Allaman and make your way to the village of Aubonne, following signs for Arboretum AAVA. There are alternative routes via St. Livres, Bière and Montherod.
By public transport: take a Swiss Railway train to Allaman, then post bus to the villages of Aubonne, Montherod or St. Livres. From here, take a tourist path to the Arboretum (the walk will last approximately one hour).
