Graubünden's southern valley, parallel to the Misox, has a climate that is at once harsh, intemperate and Mediterranean. Its beauty becomes evident on a circular tour starting in Arvigo. The trail leads through a sparse mountain forest and to the car-free and picturesque villages of Landarenca and Braggio. Two cablecars climb the steep mountain faces, allowing time for a break, a chance to breath in the fresh air and the opportunity to explore the sparsely grown region and its villages. The stresses and strains of modern life apparently never reached this valley and its grottos. Time is measured here by a different standard.

Other attraction: Landarenca and Braggio; Arvigo: old arched bridge, Gneis quarry. Chapels and churches are found by the wayside and in the villages (particularly worth seeing: Church near Braggio).
