Access starting point: From the Unterterzen Train Station at the Walen Lake the aerial cableway takes you in 15 minutes to Flumserberg Tannenboden. The valley station of the cablecar to the Maschgenkamm is approximately 100 meters from the mountain station. The ride to Maschgenkamm takes 30 minutes.

The Murg lakes are embedded in a wild and romantic mountain basin. The idyllic peacefulness of this area is a balm for the soul. The trail to Murg at the Walen Lake leads you through a high valley defined by natural with an incomparable Alpine flora. The north side of the Swiss Alps there has very few valleys in which you can start from a lake shore with its elements of a southern flora (such as sweet chestnuts) and then hike through all stages of vegetation up to the pine trees at the upper treeline and the mountain pastures of the High Alps.
