Along its 200 kilometers, the Thurgau Circuit Hike leads to many beautiful spots. It has 24 sections and embraces the entire canton. The stretch from Kreuzlingen via Ermatingen to Steckborn could well be called "Royal", as several castles and fortresses mark the way. Castle Arenenberg, for instance, where Queen Hortense lived with her son, the future Napoleon III. The views of Lake Constance and the island of Reichenau are quite regal too.
Other attraction: In Kreuzlingen: Former Augustine Monastery, Local history museum at Rosenegg House, Nautical Museum in the former grain depot, Girsberg Castle with dolls museum; Unter-Castell ruin; old church in Ermatingen, Restaurant and Hotel Adler, Customs House, Arenenberg Castle; Sandegg Castle; in Steckborn, courtyard of a tower with museum, Old Town with town hall and Medieval timber-framed houses, municipal church.

All starting points and destinations of the 24 stages can be reached by public transportantion.
Two to three stages can be easily covered in a day, depending on the hiker's inclination and fitness. The canton of Thurgau can be toured on a 1-day hiking circuit.
Brown signposts marked "Thurgau Rundwanderweg" (Thurgau Hiking Circuit) complement the yellow signposts.
