The hiking tour near the French border leads from the Leymen Valley to the Laufen Valley. Between the 2 valleys, the striking mountain ridge of the Blauen is visible from afar.
Besides its scenic charm, the tour has much to offer by way of culture. The tour highlight is the Benedictine monastery of Mariastein, dating from the 17th century. The hike concludes with a visit to Laufen. The well-preserved Old Town is surrounded by three town gates and the roughly 400 meter long remnant of the city wall.
