The "Trans Swiss Trail" is the first long distance hiking trail fully developed for tourism which traverses Switzerland from North to South. The section through the Emmental valley does not lead across high mountains, but through a landscape with gently rolling hills, magnificent farms and flower-bedecked meadows. Overnight stays and breakfast, luggage transport and hiking maps are included in the package.
A total of 16 km of the Bern - Boll - Lützelflüh section takes place on a tarred trail. The Emmental Valley is more than just cheese: in addition to the scenic landscape you will encounter a farming way of life and cultural riches, starting with decorative flower boxes on window sills and ranging from hearty cuisine, uplifting country music and warm hospitality to the characteristic Hornuss games on Sundays.
