A wonderful tranquility lies over the valley. You can hear a few cow bells, nothing else. The hike from Montsevelier across the ridge path to Delémont is a tour through a landscape that is green throughout. The tour offers a great opportunity to actively experience the use of two languages. If you only hear French in Montsevelier, the farmer on Fringeli will speak a true Baselbiet German dialect. After another hour of hiking, you will once again be greeted in French in the Nature Friends' House (Naturfreundehaus) on Retemberg mountain.
