The hike from Lugano-Paradiso across San Salvatore down to Morcote is a highlight in the life of a hiker. The relatively steep ascent can be avoided. The cableway brings you comfortably up to the panoramic mountain from Paradiso. The ascent leads through the beautifully situated Carona down to the even more beautiful Morcote. The return trip by ship from Lugano is a fitting conclusion to this wonderful hike.
From Paradiso train station follow the hiking trail in the direction of San Salvatore. Always follow the hiking trail relatively steeply upwards in the direction of San Salvatore. The ascent takes about 2 hours. At San Salvatore, follow the hiking trail to Carona and Morcote. The Botanical Garden of San Grato in Carona with its large rhododendron collection is worth a visit. The park lies at an elevation of 690 meters above sea level and has a fabulous view of the nearby surroundings and the peaks of the Alpine range.
