"The great Aletsch Glacier" (first orientation panel on Mt. Eggishorn): The entrance to the mountain trail called "From the glacier to the lake" is located right behind the Horrli-Hitta. A30 minute descent on the serpentine mountain path leads to the first signpost "Glacier hut, Tälligrat, Märjelen". It takes 15 minutes to hike across the romantic trail to the vantage point (with its majestic views) at the small lake on Tälligrat mountain. The descent to Märjelen/Gletscherstube at the signpost of Tälligrat follows. It will take you 45 minutes to get to the Gletscherstube mountain hut.
Tälligrat, Märjelen". In 15 Minuten wandert man über den romantischen Plattenweg zum herrlichen Aussichtspunkt beim kleinen See auf dem Tälligrat. Abstieg nach Märjelen/Gletscherstube beim Wegweiser Tälligrat. 45 Minuten zur Berghütte Gletscherstube.
"Aletsch water supply" (2ndorientation panel, restaurant Gletscherstube, Märjelen): Hikers have the opportunity to partake of a meal in the Gletscherstube mountain hut. You can also simply stay overnight here. The information panel about the Aletsch water supply is at the mountain hut. The imposing Platta spot is a 25-minute walk away from the hut, when you take the flat mountain path. Platta is situated right across from the glacier. From Platta you can clearly see the border of what was once the legendary Märjelen Lake (a glacier edge lake).
"Märjelen Lake at the Aletsch glacier" (3rd orientation panel): Hikers enjoy the stunning view of the Great Aletsch Glacier, seen from up close. It takes 25 minutes to return to the Gletscherstube. It will take you 90 minutes to return to the intermediate station of Kühboden/Fiescheralp via Tälligrat (pedestrian tunnel, water conduit), Upper Tälli and Salzgäb Alpine Hut. At the intermediate station of Kühboden/Fiescheralp there is transportation back to Fiesch that leaves every 30 minutes. There is an alternative return route from Märjelen via the old "Herrenweg", a path that offers a stunning deep view of the Fiescher glacier - this route is only recommended for expert hikers.
