The views on both sides of the high-altitude path are incredibly
beautiful. They extend from the Napfkette range to Pilatus and from the
striking Schrattenfluh over the Hogant to the high Bernese Alps. The
sound of cowbells will accompany you all along this walk. Paradise
indeed. The hauntingly beautiful hills of the Emmental have been the
setting for many novels and films - and fine meals, too, as at the
mountain restaurant Erika up on the Geisshaldenalp.

The wide, rolling countryside of the Emmental valley forms the natural setting for a mountain walk from Langnau over to Eggiwil.
Langnau - Hochwacht - Blapbach - Eggiwil
The tour begins with a steep climb. Then you go on lovely paths up to the Hochwacht, where there is a fantastic vantage point. Then the mountain walk continues, mainly on wide paths, over to Blapbach. The typical mountain restaurant here is famous for miles around for its huge meringues. Then, fortified, you go on to the final stage of the walk. Like the climb up, the final descent to Eggiwil offers lots of wonderful vantage points.
