Starting out at the mountain cable car station, this wonderful mountain trail leads (at first with gradual and then in a few large loops) past the ice terrace, high above the Great Aletsch Glacier and via stone steps to "Red Chumma" ("Rote Chumma"). You continue on a wide path that was hewn into the rock, towards Märjelensee (Märjelen Lake). The area surrounding the lake is reminiscent of a polar landscape. You then continue onwards through the Tälligrat tunnel (a shorter path, the tunnel is lit) or around Tälligrat (a longer path, but more attractive) to Fiescheralp and back to Bettmeralp.

Other attraction: Great Aletsch Glacier - UNESCO World Nature Heritage Exhibition "Bettmerhorn Ice World"
