The Aletsch glacier is a total work of art transformed into ice. Monumentally majestic, at over 900 m in depth and 1,000 m wide, the mighty Aletsch glacier winds its way past mountains 3,000 m to 4,000 m in height.
Discover its unique beauty without danger on a guided walk from Bettmeralp. Even this 2 hour tour, the shortest of glacier tours, will be sufficient to impart a fascination for this ice world.
And the trail through the peaceful Aletsch forest, home to Switzerland's oldest stone pines, provides great views of the first UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. Further fascinating facts about nature are to be found in the constantly changing exhibitions in the Villa Cassel at Riederalp. The villa, where Churchill once stayed, now also houses the nature reserve's information centre and is home to a wonderful Alpine garden.
Snow-white eternity.

Switzerland pure. Where nature and culture meet.
Even in the relentless rush of our modern times, Switzerland still has its unspoilt natural landscapes, its rich flora and fauna, and its country traditions. Hence "Switzerland pure.", the most natural of Switzerland's seals of quality. The label applies to those holiday offers in which people and nature coexist in harmony, experiences to let you wonder at the little things that, in Switzerland, can be truly "wonder-full".More links
