Dug into the ground, carved out of rock, or even attached to it, the
scars of the Suonen are reminders of the constant battle against
drought waged by the region's farmers. Today, picturesque walking routes follow these water courses, in particular in the area around Nendaz. And at the head of the valley, take a cable car up the Mont Fort (3,300 m) direct to a panorama of over fifty 4,000m summits.
