It's also home to the largest nature reserve in Switzerland, with 72 thundering waterfalls, secluded valleys, flower-strewn alpine meadows and solitary mountain inns.
The Upper Lauterbrunnen valley is a wild alpine landscape where the impressive panoramic views take in several peaks rising to 4,000 meters. Since 1960, the whole of the Upper Lauterbrunnen valley has been protected by the regional government.
